Come explore the power of ACT metaphors through discussion, exercises, and games.  Using metaphors in therapy provides a creative way of helping clients get into their experience and find more acceptance, presence, and perspective on their presenting concerns.  We will discuss a variety of metaphors to use with clients, have time to practice with a partner, and play a new game based on the Drop the Rope metaphor.  It will be a fun, creative, and experiential night of ACT metaphors and games.

Ellis Edmunds is a licensed psychologist working in Oakland and Orinda, CA.  He specializes in using ACT to help men struggling with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.  He is passionate about mindfulness practice and gives workshops on mindfulness for teachers and employees.  He has also created two ACT games: The Mindful Bus and Drop the Rope.  In his free time you can find him playing basketball, Taiko drumming, and enjoying time with his family and friends.
