Presenter:
Dr. Sandra Georgescu is a recent transplant to the Bay Area and the owner and clinical psychologist at the contextual CBT center. In this capacity, she provides contextual cognitive behavioral therapy (C-CBTs) to diverse adults presenting with a wide range of presenting complaints. Her training and experience with DBT and ACT inform her conceptualizations, teachings and practice.
Prior to switching to full time clinical work, Dr. G was an Associate Professor in a doctoral clinical psychology program for eight years. As an ACBS Peer Reviewed Trainer since 2013, Dr. G is a regular presenter/workshop facilitator for various organizations and inter/national conferences and has published several articles/chapters on various topics within the Contextual CBT area (including the role of acceptance in DBT, burnout andContextual CBT training in the classroom).
Lastly, Dr. G is an active member of ACBS, including past-Chair/current member of the DEI Committee, past co-president of the Women in ACBS Self-Interest Group (SIG) and an ongoing member of the CE committee.
Dr. G is fluent in English, French and Romanian. She holds a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology – Argosy University and a Graduate Diploma in Adult Education from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada where she grew up.
