SFACBS welcomes you to an engaging
in-person workshop:
Psychedelic Assisted Therapy
and ACT
Friday April 19, 2024
2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
(Social nearby to follow)
Presenter: Marina Bystritsky
The Center SF
548 Fillmore St.
San Francisco, CA 94117
Description of the Workshop:
Recent research indicates that psychedelic assisted therapy (PAT) is a highly effective form of treatment. It appears to be quickly becoming a major new form of mental health care. This lecture will focus on what psychedelic assisted therapy is, on preparation, guidance, and integration phases of psychedelic assisted therapy and why ACT may be a well-suited approach for each of these phases of treatment. We will also talk about what conditions psychedelic assisted therapy has the most evidence for as well as about what non-ordinary and non-dual states of consciousness are and why they often exert positive effects on one’s life, including improving functioning, making meaning, and creating flexibility. My hope is that this workshop will help therapists to better understand the current state of psychedelic science and to also have better conversations with their clients about psychedelics and their potential risks and benefits.
CEs will not be offered for this event.
Event to be followed by social gathering nearby at: Stoa, 701 Haight St. Join us for drinks and snacks.
